Overview
This workflow checks the current Policy and Kiosk status for all accessible devices or a chosen scope, then writes the snapshot to an Excel workbook. It supports a repeatable operating step for device monitoring and inspection, with a clear exported record that includes the device status at query time.
The Problem This Workflow Solves
Teams responsible for monitored devices often need to confirm whether Policy and Kiosk settings are currently applied, especially after changes, rollouts, or support investigations. They may need to verify all devices or a smaller group, then decide whether the scope is correct and whether the status query completed successfully before sharing the result.
- Scope control. The workflow checks all devices or a custom list before it queries status.
- Readable export. The workbook uses English headers and a consistent row layout.
- Clear failure returns. The run reports the failing stage and next step when it stops early.
Who This Is For
- Device operations teams. They need a current view of Policy and Kiosk assignment across managed devices.
- Support teams. They can narrow the scope to investigate a store, group, or device issue.
- Teams sharing reports. They can hand off a point-in-time workbook for follow-up or review.
What Sets This Workflow Apart
- Scope validation. The workflow rejects an empty custom scope before it tries to create a workbook.
- Early stop on no match. If entered names do not resolve, it returns the unmatched scope instead of continuing.
- Query-first execution. The workflow stops export when the status query fails, so it does not create an empty report.
How It Works
- Set scope and report time
- The workflow collects the device scope choice and the report time zone, then prepares the values for later steps.
- Validate a custom scope
- If you choose specific groups or devices, the workflow checks that at least one name is provided.
- Resolve and query devices
- The workflow resolves custom names into a queryable scope, then reads the current Policy and Kiosk snapshot.
- Build and export the workbook
- After a successful query, the workflow formats the timestamp, builds English table rows, and writes the Excel workbook.
What You'll Need
- AirDroid Business access
- An authorized connection must be able to read the device list and current Policy and Kiosk status.
- Microsoft Excel in OneDrive
- An authorized Excel connection must be able to create workbooks in OneDrive.
- Scope selection and report time zone
- You must choose all devices or provide group names or device names as JSON lists, and you may select a report time zone.
How to Use
- Step 1. Authorize the required connections
- Step 2. Choose the device scope
- Step 3. Select the report time zone
- Step 4. Run and review the result
Connect AirDroid Business for device and status access, and connect Microsoft Excel so the workflow can create a workbook in OneDrive.
Select all devices or enter matching group names or device names as JSON lists for a custom export.
Choose the time zone used for the workbook name timestamp and the successful result time, or keep the default UTC.
Start the workflow, then review the returned status, workbook details, or failure stage and next step after it finishes.
