Overview
This template responds to AirDroid Business app alerts when a monitored app is not in the foreground. It validates the event, checks key device and app details, attempts to reopen the app once, and then prepares a plain-text report with follow-up choices for the administrator. It works as a reusable step in an operating process for critical app handling.
The Problem This Workflow Solves
Teams responsible for monitored devices need a clear response when AirDroid Business reports that a critical app is not in the foreground. They must confirm the alert data, review device status, app version, and configuration state, then decide whether to continue with no action, notify on-site personnel, or request remote handling.
- Faster first response. The workflow opens the app once and then refreshes device status for follow-up review.
- Clearer handoff. The report includes the device, app, and screenshot results for the administrator.
- Better decision support. The administrator can choose no action, on-site notification, or a remote control link.
- More complete context. Missing investigation details are recorded without stopping the reopen attempt.
Who This Is For
- Teams responsible for monitored devices. They can use this template to respond to critical app foreground alerts and review device status.
- Administrators handling alert follow-up. They receive a report and choose the next handling option from the form.
- On-site maintenance personnel. They can be selected to receive the alert summary and handling requirements by email.
- Unattended device environments. They benefit from a workflow that can reopen the app and capture updated screen information.
What Sets This Workflow Apart
- Event validation. The workflow checks that the alert is complete and matches the expected foreground status before continuing.
- Non-blocking investigation. It records missing device or app details and still continues the reopen attempt.
- Post-action verification. It waits, refreshes device status, and checks whether a new screenshot was created after the attempt.
- Human follow-up point. It sends a handling form so the administrator can choose the next action.
How It Works
- Receive and validate the alert
- The workflow reads the alert details, checks that the event is complete, and rejects alerts that do not match the expected foreground condition.
- Review device context and reopen the app
- It gathers device status, battery, configuration, and app version, then attempts once to bring the target app back to the foreground.
- Refresh and check the result
- After a short wait, the workflow refreshes the device status, requests the latest screenshot, and checks whether the screenshot is newer than the action.
- Send the report and wait for a choice
- It sends a plain-text report with the investigation results and a handling form, then waits up to 24 hours for the administrator.
- Carry out the selected follow-up
- The administrator can choose no action, notify selected on-site personnel, or request a one-time remote control link, and the workflow records the branch result.
What You'll Need
- Matching AirDroid Business alert
- The workflow must be attached to an App Running Status Monitoring alert with the Not in Foreground status.
- Configured email recipients
- An administrator email address is needed, and optional on-site maintenance emails can be entered for later selection.
- Authorized device access
- Valid credentials are needed for device queries, app reopening, screenshot refresh, remote link generation, and email sending.
- Report time zone
- You can choose the display time zone for alert times and screenshot times in the report.
How to Use
- Step 1. Set the report details
- Step 2. Connect the required credentials
- Step 3. Attach the alert
- Step 4. Review the form response
Enter the administrator email address, optional on-site recipient list, and report time zone in the Start node.
Bind valid credentials to the device, app, remote operation, and email nodes before publishing the workflow.
Create an App Running Status Monitoring alert for Not in Foreground events and associate this workflow with it.
When the report arrives, choose whether to take no action, notify on-site personnel, or request a remote control link.
