How It Works

1
  1. Fetch & Filter
  2. It starts by connecting to your Gmail and fetching emails that match your criteria (like time frame, keywords, or sender).
2
  1. Iterative Processing
  2. The workflow then goes through each targeted email thread. For each one, it pulls the full content and sends it to your configured AI (LLM) node.
3
  1. AI Organization & Summarization
  2. The chosen LLM is tasked with intelligently organizing and summarizing the full body of the email, extracting key decisions, action items, or urgent information.
4
  1. Report Generation
  2. All individual summaries are then integrated into a single, polished, and structured report format.
5
  1. Final Delivery
  2. The final report is automatically sent to the designated recipient via the Gmail Send Mail node, completing the daily briefing cycle.

What You'll Need

  • A Gmail account for fetching and getting the emails.
  • A Gmail account for sending the final report.

How to Use

Before running the workflow, create and authorize a Gmail OAuth2 credential. This allows the assistant to securely access the mailbox you wish to summarize.

Steps to authorize a Gmail credential

  1. Step 1. Set Up the Gmail Connection
    • Click on the 'Fetch Email List' node.
    • In its properties panel, locate the Gmail OAuth2 API section and select 'Credentials.'
    • From the drop-down menu, click to add new credentials for your target email account (this is the inbox you want to read and summarize).
  1. Step 2. Name & Authorize Your Account
    • In the setup window that opens, first, give your credentials a Name.
    • Then, click the 'Authorize' button.
    • A new browser window will pop up. Please select your target email account to log in.
  1. Step 3. Complete the Authorization
    • On the Google permissions screen, you may need to click 'Advanced' and then tap 'Go to goinsight.ai.'
    • Then, click the 'Authorize' button.
    • Finally, click Continue to grant the necessary permissions.
  1. Step 4. Save & Confirm
    • Click 'Save' in the credentials setup window. Your authorization is now complete and ready to use.

Steps to Run the workflow

  1. Step 1. Configure Email Credentials
    • After authorizing your email account, make sure to select the same credentials you just set up in the Fetch Email List, Get a Mail, and Send Mail nodes.
  1. Step 2. Test Run Configuration
    • Tap Test Run in the top right corner and provide the information it asks for:
    • ToGmail: Enter the email address that you want to receive the summary/report.
    • Query: Enter the target email address that you want to track. For example: from: abc@123.com
    • AfterTime: Enter a date (YYYY/MM/DD) to filter messages sent on or after that date.
    • BeforeTime: Enter a date (YYYY/MM/DD) to filter messages sent on or before that date.
Filtering is based on UTC time. To account for timezone offsets and ensure no messages are missed, it is recommended to expand your date range by one day (or more)—setting the AfterTime one day earlier and the BeforeTime one day later than your target period.
  1. Step 3. Customize Report Title (Optional)
    • You can customize the final report's title (email subject) in the Send Mail node. Otherwise, it will use the default title: "Gmail Email Summary."
    • To adjust the title, tap the Send Mail node, in the "Subject" field, specify a title like "Daily Team Briefing" or "Project X Update."
To capture today's emails, do not leave the beforetime field blank. You need to set it to the next day (like tomorrow's date), otherwise the query will return no results.
